Welcome to the 
Cancer Center Informatics Society

The Society concept was envisioned in 2011 and formally founded in 2012. Today, it stands as the nation’s leading professional oncology organization specializing in AI, Informatics, and Data Science within Designated and Community Cancer Centers. Our motto, “Turn data into knowledge and knowledge into health®,” continues to drive our mission forward.

We are organized and lead by members of the Designated Cancer Center and Large Health System communities. Artificial Intelligence, Informatics, Data Science, and Health Information Technology is borderless — and so are we. We are committed to eliminating health disparities, reducing risk, and improving outcomes for patients all across the world.

We are not only US Based. Ci4CC brings together executive leadership across cancer research and care organizations and industry partners from across the world, with a common interest in using data and computation to impact cancer risk, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes for all populations. 

We are also committed to building a more equitable and diverse workforce in cancer informatics and data science through training, mentorship, inclusion, and representation.

CI4CC is a nonprofit (Pending 2025 Status Updates) organization intended to provide a focused international forum for engagement of Artificial Intelligence, Precision Medicine, Clinical Trials, Data Science, Translational Informatics, and much more, all aimed at Private, Public, and Community Cancer Centers anywhere in the world.  We are your Cancer  information Data Coordinating Center.

There is a special emphasis on designated and community cancer programs.  While each of our cancer centers are structured differently and our titles vary, from Cancer Center CIO/CRIO/CMIO to Directors of Cancer Informatics Shared Resources and Programs, to Chairs of Departments and Schools, we know first hand there are similarities in both the issues we face and the solutions we achieve.

As a consortium, we have initiated a dedicated list serve, an open-initiatives program, and very targeted cancer center informatics & precision medicine face-to-face meetings. These meetings are a place to review our priorities and initiatives, providing a forum for discussion of the strategic and pragmatic issues we, as informatics leaders, individually face at our respective institutions and cancer centers.
