Cancer Center Informatics Society

Founded in 2012, and now the nation’s leading professional oncology organization for AI, Informatics, & Data Science within NCI-Designated & Community Cancer Centers. Our motto "Turn data into knowledge and knowledge into health ®" remains at the core of our mission.

We are organized and lead by members of the NCI-Designated Cancer Center and Large Health System communities. Artificial Intelligence, Informatics, Data Science, and Health Information Technology is borderless — and so are we. We are committed to eliminating health disparities, reducing risk, and improving outcomes for patients all across the world.

We are not only US Based. Ci4CC brings together executive leadership across cancer research and care organizations and industry partners from across the world, with a common interest in using data and computation to impact cancer risk, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes for all populations. 

We are also committed to building a more equitable and diverse workforce in cancer informatics and data science through training, mentorship, inclusion, and representation.

CI4CC is a nonprofit 501c3 organization intended to provide a focused international forum for engagement of Precision Medicine, Clinical Trials, Data Science, Translational Informatics, and much more, all aimed at Private, Public, and Community Cancer Centers anywhere in the world.  We are your Cancer information Data Coordinating Center.

There is a special emphasis on large community cancer programs and all NCI-funded cancer centers. Our intent is to expand to all other similar non-NCI based organizations. While each of our cancer centers are structured differently and our titles vary, from Cancer Center CIO/CRIO/CMIO to Directors of Cancer Informatics Shared Resources and Programs, to Chairs of Departments and Schools, we know first hand there are similarities in both the issues we face and the solutions we achieve.

As a consortium, we have initiated a dedicated list serve, an open-initiatives program, and very targeted cancer center informatics & precision medicine face-to-face meetings. These meetings are a place to review our priorities and initiatives, providing a forum for discussion of the strategic and pragmatic issues we, as informatics leaders, individually face at our respective institutions and cancer centers. These meetings are complementary to existing fora such as the ACCC, ASCO, AACR,  ASTRO, AMIA, Global Alliance for Health and Genomics, ASHG, BioIT, US-based CTSA Informatics annual meeting, and NCI / NIH meetings.
