Dr. Shreya Kanodia is a cancer biologist and administrative leader currently serving as the Associate Vice President of Programs, Infrastructure & Planning and Associate Center Director of Administration at MD Anderson Cancer Center. With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Kanodia has made significant contributions to cancer research and administration. She obtained her Ph.D. in cancer biology/immunology from MD Anderson Cancer Center and completed her post-doctoral training at the University of Southern California, specializing in tumor immunology. Dr. Kanodia has 15 years of research experience, focusing on understanding cancer pathogenesis and using this understanding to develop novel diagnostics and vaccines for cancers including mesothelioma, prostate cancer, cervical cancer, and leukemia. Her research has been funded by grants from the Tower Cancer Research Foundation, the Department of Defense, and the National Cancer Institute.
In addition to her research endeavors, Dr. Kanodia has held pivotal roles in both academia and industry. She has served as Co-Owner/Director for Business Development of Advanced Microdevices Pvt Ltd; Co-Founder & Chief Financial Officer of Advanced Bioscience Technologies LLC; Interim Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Grants Management at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center; Executive Director & Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Executive Director for Cancer Research and Deputy Director of Administration at UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center. In these roles, she has demonstrated expertise in finance, human resources, facilities, program management, strategic planning and evaluation, and research administration. At MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Kanodia's responsibilities include managing institutional research programs, core facilities, and multidisciplinary research initiatives, including the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG). Her multifaceted expertise in both scientific research and administrative leadership has positioned her as a prominent figure in the field, driving innovation and progress in cancer research management.
