"The Cancer Passport"
Initiative Mission Statement:
The Cancer Passport Collaborative Initiative aims to establish the foundation for next-generation patient focussed clinical research data management digital infrastructure for Cancer Centers.
Come join us in Designing the Next Generation Clinical Research Data Ecosystem
Project Launch October 2024
The Cancer Passport is a groundbreaking initiative powered by Data Science and Clinical Informatics, showcasing a nationwide partnership dedicated to enhancing the clinical research landscape and its data infrastructure. This initiative highlights the diverse clinical research environment across all NCI-Designated and Community Cancer Centers, representing a unified effort to revolutionize the monitoring and management of clinical research protocols.
At the heart of this mission is a coordinated multi-site Clinical Research Subject Matter Expert Program Committee, focused on advancing the complex trials data ecosystem. This includes efforts to optimize Clinical Trials Time to Activation and its integration with Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes, ensure seamless integration with existing clinical trials management platforms and EMRs, and expedite the processing and live monitoring of clinical trials, from time to activation to financial clearance. These are just a few of the focus areas of The Cancer Passport Collaborative Initiative. We invite you to join us in shaping the next generation of clinical research data management infrastructure, one clinical trial at a time.
Phase 1: This multi-site initiative is designed to begin with a focus on the acceleration of trial activation, streamline monitoring of the clinical trial protocol data ecosystem, and enhance patient-centered research focused care by bringing clinical trials directly to patients. The establishment of this “NextGen” Clinical Research Data Infrastructure Management Alliance will initially focus on interventional therapeutic and observational clinical trials. Over the first six months of this 12-month initiative, The Cancer Passport Alliance will concentrate on the collection and mapping of trial activation processes and related ancillary data from participating sites while building the foundational data framework.
